Page 50 - Welcome to Posture Pro
P. 50
In the exam above you see a patient with the head forward of the shoulders, a rounded
upper back and a tilted pelvis. Her Posture Number is 20. As you see, the greater the pos-
tural deviations the higher the Posture Number. Explaining this is quite simple:
“Mrs. Smith, you see all these numbers on the result screen? You know what all these
numbers should be? They should all be zero, as in NO postural deviations. And the most
important number, the Posture Number is 20. Normal again is zero. A Posture Number of
20 means there are several areas of your spine and pelvis that are out of position.
My job is to locate and fix those areas and to make sure no mechanical damage has hap-
pened from excessive wear and tear that quite often accompanies a Posture Number this
high. Any questions”
You have just used a universal awareness word to establish the necessity of care. And,
you have used an objective tool the patient understands. And lastly, because you use the
patients own photograph there can be NO disassociation from the results.
The next step is to use the posture exam as a tool to show the necessity of continued
care.
